Job Summary

The Globalization Programs Strategy Office (GPSO) at NetApp is looking to hire an Engineering Program Manager to support our product localization cycles. This position is responsible for supporting NetApp's delivery of localized products to strengthen NetApp's offerings and its international business.
As a member of our team, you will be encouraged to work independently with the engineering and product management teams to understand the product requirements and translate them into specs to be shared with translation and engineer vendors. You will be responsible for globalization assessments for new products or functionalities of existing products. You will provide i18n and l10n technical solutions for product related issues. You are the point of contact for our translation and engineering vendors and will cultivate a close relationship through regular meetings, MBRs, QBRs.

- Collaborate with engineers, product and program managers, support teams, and other stakeholders, aligning regularly through planning and regular meetings on product localization requirements and keep track of latest status.
- Manage translation and engineering vendors who conduct product localization to ensure that localization happens on time and meets expectations for quality, cost, and level of service.
- Triage, validate, and share with Globalization Architect and Loc OPS PM linguistic bugs reported by customers, partners, and/or internal teams.
- Understand and enable use of machine translation for product localization to enable fast and cost-efficient localization.
- Evangelize and educate others about localization and internationalization best practices and tooling optimization.


This position sits in Bangalore and reports to the Director, Globalization in the US.

Job Requirements

- Previous roles such as engineering program manager, software localization engineer, technical program manager, or similar position.
- Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and familiarity with standard coding environments and tools.
- An energetic, dynamic, and passionate individual who is all about delivering global products to our customers.
- A great partner who knows how to collaborate across functional groups, can help and influence engineering teams.
- Able to effectively communicate technical knowledge and project issues and resolutions to engineers, release managers, translators, vendors, and other core team members.
- Experience conveying product requirements and specifications documents to engineering teams.
- Experience working with translation and localization tools and handling parsing requirements for resource file formats such as .yml, properties, .strings, .json, .js, .xml, and .xliff.
- Excellent English written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with people from various technical and cultural backgrounds.
- Experience working with international and geographically distributed teams, reporting back to the US.
- Innovation mindset, pursuing technology trends around automation, continuous localization, AI solutions.
- Experience with handling globalization for OEMs.

Education

Minimum of 4 to 8 years of related experience required.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field
