Job description
Roles & responsibilities:
The purpose of the Data ETL Specialist role is to design, implement, and support Data ETL processes for SMR Demand and Supply planning Application (Logility Voyager). The individual will be required to ingest data from various heterogeneous source system and ensure accurate and complete data is available for the demand and supply planning application to consume. This is a time critical business function, so the individual is required to proactively resolve any issues with data extraction layer. This may occasionally dictate weekend support to ensure smooth operation of the processes.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and continuously expand data pipelines by performing extraction, transformation, and loading activities in coordination with the SMR demand and supply planning support team.
Gather requirements and business process knowledge in order to transform the data in a way that geared towards the needs of the SMR demand and supplying planning tool.
Support and monitor the data extraction layer to ensure timely completion of the ETL processes.
Investigate potential issues in coordination with responsible source systems specialists and ensure timely resolution.
Responsible for the fine tuning of the staging area and work with other IT group functions to ensure a secure and stable platform for the ETL services.
Documentation of all the ETL services and processes for future references as per SMR IT standards.
Skill requirements
Degree / Diploma in IT
SQL knowledge and DB structure
Data modelling principles
Knowledge of databases like MS SQL, DB2, SAP HANA
ETL tools like SSIS, IBM CDC and Adaplink from Logility
Interpersonal skills
