Job description
1. Database Installation and Configuration:
o Proficient in installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle databases to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.
2. Performance Tuning:
o Implement performance tuning strategies to enhance database efficiency, optimize SQL queries, and mitigate bottlenecks for optimal system responsiveness.
3. Backup and Recovery Management:
o Develop and maintain robust backup and recovery procedures to safeguard critical data, ensuring quick and efficient restoration in case of system failures.
4. Security Administration:
o Implement and manage database security measures, including user access controls, roles, and privileges, to uphold data confidentiality, integrity, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
5. Patch Management and Upgrades:
o Stay current with Oracle releases, plan and execute version upgrades, and manage patch applications to keep the database environment aligned with the latest features and security enhancements.
6. Database Monitoring and Alerts:
o Implement monitoring solutions to track database performance, generate alerts for potential issues, and proactively address them to minimize downtime.
7. Database Design and Schema Management:
o Contribute to database design decisions, manage schema structures, and collaborate with developers to ensure efficient and scalable database architectures.
8. Capacity Planning:
o Conduct regular capacity assessments, forecast future requirements, and propose necessary adjustments to accommodate evolving data needs and business growth.
9. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
o Investigate and resolve database-related issues promptly, employing strong problem-solving skills and collaborating with relevant teams to minimize impact on operations.
10. Documentation and Training:
o Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and best practices. Provide training sessions for team members and end-users to promote a deep understanding of database functionalities.
