VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG) Operations Engineer L2
HCL team is looking for an experienced Kubernetes Operations Engineer with expertise in VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid implementation and troubleshooting experience. In this role, you ll work closely with operations team on some of HCL's largest and most strategic customer engagements to manage and support VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid platform running on top of VMware Telco Cloud infrastructure and implement POC solutions and provide support for running services.

o Experience A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in an engineering/operations role with a VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid expertise.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Operate the VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG) management and workload clusters which are managed by Telco Cloud Automation (TCA)
Provide Level 2 support for Tanzu Kubernetes clusters, addressing day-to-day operational issues in a 24x7x365 global support delivery team.
Assist in cluster deployment and management, including upgrades and patching.
Monitor the health, capacity and performance of Tanzu Kubernetes clusters and associated services and respond to alerts.
Manage Harbor container registry instances, repositories and helm charts
Manage telco cloud native functions/services (CSAR)
Help troubleshoot and resolve issues related to container orchestration, networking, and performance.
Collaborate with Level 1 and Level 3 support teams as needed.
Implement automation for routine operational tasks such as troubleshooting and diagnostics activities.
Contribute to knowledge base articles and documentation (SOPs & TSGs).
Participate in on-call rotations to provide support during incidents.
Seek opportunities for professional development and continuous learning.
Requirements:
4-6 years of experience in a technical position and a minimum of 2 years of experience as VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid administrator
Previous experience in Kubernetes operations or support
Basic understanding of Tanzu Kubernetes Grid architecture and key components.
Familiarity with Kubernetes tools (e.g., kubectl, helm) and containerization (e.g., Docker).
Basic understanding and hands on experience working with underlying infrastructure (Telco Cloud Automation (TCA), vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, NSXT, AVI)
Hands on experience in leveraging observability solutions (vRO, Prometheus/Grafana, Dynatrace) for Kubernetes platform monitoring and logging
Scripting or automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python, Terraform/Ansible).
Willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CKAD) are a bonus.
