Job Description:

The Physics Associate Professor will play a crucial role in achieving the college's vision and mission by teaching and inspiring students in the field of physics. This individual will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality lectures, overseeing student projects and research, and engaging in scholarly activities to advance the field. Additionally, the Physics Associate Professor will be expected to participate in department and college-wide initiatives to promote excellence in teaching and learning, and to contribute to the development of the department and college as a whole.

Qualifications:

• A PhD or equivalent degree in Physics or a related field.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level.
• A strong research record and ongoing scholarly activity in the field of physics.
• Experience supervising student research projects.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in physics and related subjects.
• Conducting original research in the field of physics and publishing findings in academic journals.
• Mentoring and advising students on their academic and research work.
• Participating in departmental and university committees and initiatives.
• Seeking and obtaining grant funding to support their research.
• Engaging in professional development activities, such as attending conferences and workshops.
• Collaborating with other researchers both within and outside of the university.
• Participating in community outreach and public speaking events to promote the field of physics.
