Job description
Our organization is seeking a dynamic Plant Head/Manager to ensure that the plant activities align with our business objectives.
The ideal candidate will oversee and optimize the entire production process, ensuring efficiency, quality output, introduce and implement systems, and resolve manufacturing related issues.
Responsibilities include managing plant operations, coordinating with production supervisors/line leaders, implementing process improvements, and maintaining production schedules.
The role demands strong leadership and communication skills, technical proficiency, and a proven track record in a managerial role.Â
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Communicate daily with the management team to understand production schedules and dispatch commitments
- Chart out production plans for various activities/processes as per dispatch schedule.
- Coordination with the supervisors and line leaders for execution of the production plans to ensure quantity output, quality and on-time shipping.
- Preparation of BOM and coordinating with external vendors and in-house divisions to ensure all materials are available as per schedule requirements.
- Examine processes and design systems to improve production output as well as quality.
- Accountable for production quality, costs, labor utilization, and efficiency of machinery inside the factory.
- Ensuring a sufficient labor force is available in all shifts by executing recruitment drives and resolving workers' issues to maintain a healthy work environment.
- Training of managing the team of supervisors and line leaders on various responsibilities and execution of their roles.
- Continuous process improvement by conducting root cause analysis of major breakdowns/quality complaints and modifying SOPs as and when necessary.
- Develop and execute strategies to reduce loss of production in terms of scrap/rejection, machinery breakdowns, in-process delays and loss of labor hours, increasing the organization's profitability.
- Ensuring adherence to all the production systems in place by various stake holders of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering
Desired Characteristic:
- An individual with proven leadership skills, supervision, a strategic mindset, and comprehensive understanding of plant operations.Â
- Prior knowledge of Cost optimization techniques, Plant maintenance, Preventive / Predictive maintenance, TPM, Six sigma, 5S, TQM, Lean management, Modernization of existing plants, Process Improvements/process re-engineering, Layout change/re-design, etc will be given preference.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills contribute to a collaborative work environment, and effective task prioritization and documentation management ensure smooth plant operations.
