Responsibilities
- Understand pressure vessel design process/procedure/practice and gasification related design regulation/code/standard and follow company/project specifications.
- Provide technical support for Gasification component design, particularly focus on pressure vessel design and FEA analysis.
- Provide technical support for POX (Partial Oxidization) gasifier component design, accomplish assigned tasks as part of the technical package preparation and interface with vendor.
- Provide support for development of Gasification products and component improvement.
- Develop and specify project equipment/components specifications, conduct code calculations, FEA analysis, to finalize equipment/component enquiry.
- Prepare and maintain equipment cost estimates, Conduct technical bid evaluation.
- Review vendor drawings & documents; perform the supports for vendor workshop audit and shop inspection as required.
- determine corrective actions and coordinate with other engineering disciplines e.g. process, electrical, piping, instrumentation and civil etc. Support plant field technical service including components installations and inspections, plant start-up, retrofit, and optimization
- Provide technical support for POX and Gasification proposal.
- Participate in the related technical review e.g. Hazop/SIL review, basic and detailed engineering design.
- Interact with internal/external customers to troubleshoot technical issues, and secure feedback on ongoing operation for technical improvement and better customer support.
- Able to work with global team to accomplish tasks.
- Ensure company compliance initiatives and trainings requirements are implemented within work group
- Documentation of all work in appropriate data repositories
- Follow-up company EHS policy and procedure to achieve defined EHS target.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in mechanical engineering/thermal engineering.
- Minimum 5 years field and design experience of mechanical equipment engineering/ services, experience with pressure vessel design and FEA analysis preferred.
- Familiar with international project execution practice and good experience in engineering, preparation of enquiry documents and technical bid evaluation.
- In depth knowledge and understanding of international and local codes, standards, regulations, eg. ASME, ANSI, API, GB 150, GB151 etc.
- A good understanding of other disciplines’ work scope for example process, equipment, instrumentation, civil and structure, to realize smooth cooperation during project execution.
- Sound design and analytical background, demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems, demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion.
- Strong interpersonal skills and team spirit, Fluent in English, Strong oral and written communication skills, Able to interface effectively within the organization and external customers.
- Strong customer orientation and external focus.
- Ability and willingness to travel as required, this position may require 20-40% travel
