Quality Engineer
HAMMOND, IN

As a member of the Quality team, Quality Engineer, IATF Coordinator will be responsible to coordinate IATF and other audits in accordance with the requirements of the organization and the customer.

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

• Perform as Hammond Lead IATF coordinator auditor and Coordinator
• Lead Hammond team members through internal and external IATF and other audits (LPAs, Internal Audits)
• Manage the plant metrics keeping them updated and posted
• Continuously Improve customer relationships, and product quality
• Supervise quality auditors and technicians. Provide direction and related training
• Review Kronos detail and make corrections when needed
• Responsible for keeping logs for returned seats, QA’s, Product and Process audits (Poka-yoke)
• Participate in Scrap meeting and help root cause and drive improved performance
• Ensure proper housekeeping practices are carried out
• Root cause customer returns and take necessary actions (QA/Breakpoints/SWI updates. Etc.)
• Support overseeing containment activities in the plant, both process and supplier

Training Required:

• IATF Lead Auditor certified
• Ford specific tools (MSA, PFMEA, Control Plan etc.)
• APIS Experience is desire
• Personal Computer experiences – Spreadsheet and word processing
• Problem solving techniques
• Basic application of statistical controls
• Knowledge or experience with Ford’s Customer Specific Requirements

Your Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or five years’ experience in Automotive Quality System
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Prior experience as IATF Quality system Lead
• Competent in quality tools, and process/production control methods; APQP, Control Plans, FMEA, GD&T, MSA, PPAP, SPC
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills using 8D methodology; Is-Is Not, Fishbone diagram, Brainstorming, Affinity Diagrams, Three-legged 5 Way
• Experience in relevant manufacturing processes and technologies
