JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position title: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Bangalore
Job Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Oversee mechanical engineering projects in industrial construction, developing project plans, coordinating with engineers and contractors, and ensuring on-time, within-budget completion.
Mechanical System Design:
Review developed mechanical systems for industrial construction projects, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other components. Ensure designs meet industry standards, codes, and client requirements.
Equipment and Material Procurement:
Coordinate procurement of equipment and materials for mechanical systems, conducting research, assessing quotes, and ensuring timely delivery to the construction site.
Installation and Testing:
Oversee installation and testing of mechanical systems, ensuring correct installation and alignment with project specifications. Conduct testing and inspections for proper functioning and safety compliance.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure mechanical work complies with relevant codes, standards, and regulations. Stay updated on industry guidelines to design and install mechanical systems with safety considerations.
Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
Prepare cost estimates for mechanical projects, including equipment, labor, and material costs. Monitor project budgets for effective cost management throughout the project lifecycle.
Documentation and Reporting:
Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including mechanical drawings, specifications, test reports, and progress reports. Maintain accurate records for future reference.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure effective communication and coordination. Provide technical expertise, address concerns, and maintain positive working relationships.
Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:
Identify and resolve mechanical issues during construction. Apply problem-solving skills and technical knowledge to find innovative solutions and ensure project continuity.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated on the latest advancements in mechanical engineering and industrial construction practices. Seek opportunities to improve processes, optimize efficiency, and enhance project performance.
Job Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (Relevant license and certification may be advantageous).
7-8 years of experience in Mechanical engineering (Plumbing/Fire/Comp. Air/HVAC, etc.), with preference for candidates experienced in setting up Industrial Plant Facilities.
Project management experience with proficiency in AutoCAD is preferred.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations for Fire/Plumbing/Comp. Air/HVAC, etc.
