Synopsis of Role The Quality Assurance manager would be responsible for compliance to the Quality norms for food products within organisational product portfolio.
The QA manager would also be responsible for the product life cycle right from recipe stage to commercial production and establishing quality and operational controls during the life cycle for adherence 1.Essential Functions Assures compliance to company quality standards within our network of co-packers. Takes leadership and ownership of Quality, relative to manufacturing and food product safety. Champions improvements with the quality and food safety systems. Leads root cause investigations into Quality issues, with corrective and preventive actions. Supports implementation of Quality procedures with our co-packers. Monitors Quality throughout the Supply Chain from supplier to contract manufacturer to customer. Implements Internal Audit process to track compliance to the Quality Management System Supports manufacturing facilities with their Quality Improvement process by giving constant feedback based on customer and consumer feedback. Assures that every contract manufacturer and warehouse meets the Quality expectations criteria Supports the translation of product specifications to appropriate manufacturing instructions and documents. Ensure that the product specification database is properly managed and up to date. Assist development of key quality metrics & dashboards for performance evaluation and improvement. Set up the external sensory panel and ensure that this is deployed on a regular basis Work in close coordination with marketing & UK product team to develop new products 2.Critical Skills and Job Complexity (not addressed in Section 2) a) Unique Knowledge and Skills: Thorough knowledge of FDA / GMP regulations, BRC and their application in food/beverage manufacturing facilities. Strong knowledge in production processes in food industry Should have worked on commercialization of a product b) Contacts Types/Levels Internal & External Organisation wide (India & UK) & external too c) Problem Solving & Decision Making Good Analytical ability 3.Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related technical field, 5-8 years’ experience in food industry Should have exposure in managing in a global environment specifically (UK, Australia, Canada, and USA)4.Work Environment and Physical Demands No unusual physical work environment demands 5.Competencies Critical to this Position Core Competencies Understanding the customer Initiative and innovation/ Adaptability Excellent communication skills Analytical and self propelled Possess a professional demeanour in the organization environment.
