Roles & Responsibilities
Customer Interaction and Support:
- The primary role involves interacting with customers to address their inquiries, complaints, and other feedback
- Provide high-quality support through email, chat, phone, or social media
- The specialist must efficiently resolve customer issues, which may include technical problems related to the e-commerce platform, order processing,
- shipping, refunds, and other service-related issues Manage sensitive issues with empathy and discretion
- Resolve conflicts and negotiate with customers when necessary
Knowledge of E-Commerce Platforms:
- A deep understanding of the specific e-commerce platform(s) like Shopify, Zendesk, etc. used by the company is crucial
- This includes familiarity with the backend systems, order processing, inventory management, and other related functionalities
- Troubleshoot minor technical issues related to the platform
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- The role might involve analyzing customer feedback and support metrics to identify trends, and areas for improvement, and to report on customer support performance
- Prepare regular reports on customer interaction trends and issues
- Analyze data to understand customer behaviour and expectations
- Work with other departments (like sales and marketing) to align customer
- support with overall business goals
Process Improvement:
- The specialist is often responsible for identifying and implementing improvements in customer support processes and strategies to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Analyze customer feedback to identify patterns and areas for improvement
- Suggest enhancements to the customer support process
- Implement new technologies or methodologies to enhance customer experience
Multitasking and Prioritization:
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize them effectively to ensure timely resolution of customer issues.
This job typically requires excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset. Prior experience in customer support, especially in an e-commerce environment, is often essential.
This Role Requires:
- A bachelor's or higher degree in business, communications, or a related field is often preferred
- Minimum of 5-year experience in customer service for international online marketplaces (eBay, TradeMe, Amazon, TheMarket, Shopify, Newegg, Rakuten, etc) & shipping software including other customer service portals
- Proficiency in eCommerce platforms and customer service software
- Strong E-commerce background
- Leadership Qualities: Ability to lead and motivate a team
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Customer-Centric Mindset: Focus on delivering exceptional customer service
- Quick learner with the ability to absorb extensive information on our brand's history, product offerings, and communications/advertising program
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, great phone etiquette, and elevated speech
- Proactive personality and self-motivator
- Demonstrates initiative with the ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment
- Proven to be organized, methodical, and rigorous
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new applications quickly
- Team player able to develop great relations with co-workers
