To drive design and development activities (design, FEA/CFD, APQP, etc) for e-boosting technologies, as part of new product development and customer launch
Design, simulate & qualify product components/assemblies to meet internal validation requirements and customer needs
Define and update product specification and operational limits, relative to the successful validation of product to market needs, quality documents, design reviews and technical reports (External FA, PRA, DFMEA & DFMs)
Role involves development of a turbomachine with high speed motor, rotating components, electrical and electronics, driven by automotive system/software. It requires skills in mechanical, electrical & electronics development/integration.
Propose & integrate technical and cost effective solutions with the support of different domains, working in a multi-functional environment and utilizing appropriate simulation tools and methodologies.
Define and execute qualification activities, required for product release. Order prototypes, set up test conditions and analyze test results/ RCA.
Internal and external support to developing and launching turbochargers/ e-boosting products at customers, with close collaboration with the multi-functional teams, including supply base, SQD, Manufacturing team and other functions supporting the launch. Provide technical support for Technical Offers, Design Reviews or qualification activities.
Prepare documentation in clear and technically accurate manner and communicate it to internal and external customers.
To develop improvement activities linked to Garrett qualification processes, tools and procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or other related engineering discipline is required
Experience in the Automotive industry, ideally in gasoline and/or diesel engines development, turbomachinery, mechanical design or testing experience is preferred. Experience in EE mechanical integration is valued.
A fundamental knowledge in design of turbochargers
A fundamental knowledge of internal combustion engines
A fundamental knowledge of electrical and electronics products
Ability and willingness to learn new skills and processes, in development simulation methods and tools
Knowledge of simulation tools, design tools and methodologies, mechanical systems and rotor dynamics, materials and manufacturing processes, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
Knowledge & experience in understanding drawings, GT&T, stackup analysis etc
Advanced in speaking and writing English is essential
