Job Description Summary
The IT Network Engineer is responsible for the implementation, administration and support of ReleasePoint Networking Systems and Security. The IT Network Engineer will participate within the team to ensure networking systems are functioning to meet SLAs. The individual will support not only Production and DR environments but also Development systems and Development team staff in the delivery of ReleasePoint applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Juniper switches and Palo Alto firewalls and be able to design, implement and maintain complex enterprise network solutions.
Requirements Essential Functions
- Design, implement and maintain complex enterprise network solutions using Juniper switches and Palo Alto firewalls
- Configure and manage firewall policies, VPNs, and network security systems
- Monitor network performance and resolve any issues that arise in a timely and efficient manner
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve network-related issues
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry developments and technologies
- Participate in the development and implementation of disaster recovery plans
- Document network configurations and designs
- Provide application and development environment and team support.
- Will be required to resolve Production issues and troubleshoot problems.
- Will provide on call and after-hours support, responding to alerts and requests for assistance.
- Provides Security monitoring and incident response if needed.
Professional Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in network engineering with a focus on Juniper switches and Palo Alto firewalls
- Strong understanding of routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP
- Knowledge of network security best practices and experience with network security systems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- CCNP or JNCIS certification is a plus
- ITIL experience and process familiarity
