Job description
The Senior Project Manager (SPM) role requires hands-on project management skills, deep technical expertise, and excellent leadership skills. SPM will participate in collecting business and system requirements from our customers, driving project schedules from design to release, and managing the production launch. The SPM will also identify and lead process improvement opportunities. This is SMB in NA region and hence working in S3 is mandatory.
OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS:
- Interact with stakeholders, program managers and cross-functional team members to define and deliver within scope solutions
- Provide Change Management if deliverables fall out of scope using agreed change control procedures
- Lead the effective and efficient delivery of the SMB and Enterprise projects
- Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints
- Maximize resources for the greater good of the organization.
- Identify, assess, track and mitigate issues and risks at multiple levels
- Create, maintain and disseminate project information to stakeholders inline with SumTotal Governance standards
- Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities
- Ensuring high customer satisfaction throughout the lifecycle of the project
- Keep upto speed with knowledge on SumTotal Skillsoft products and offerings
- Establishment and maintenance of a project repository and all associated documentation and deliverables
- Working in late evening shift to support customers in North America
SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree Engineering, or related technical field or equivalent professional experience
- 5+ years of relevant work experience (i.e. Project/Process Management and Process building)
- Requirement gathering, definition, and documentation experience
- Experience delivering on-schedule and within budget software solution for global enterprise organizations using project management methodologies
- Experience managing multi-team project
- Experience with issue tracking systems
- Experience with business applications such as Word, Excel and Project and time tracking systems
- Process improvement experience
- Basic knowledge of some or all of the following technologies: SQL (T-SQL, PL/SQL), VB, Javascript, ASP, XML, Cognos Reports, SQL Server, Oracle, IIS, firewalls, proxies, SMTP, and general Windows OS and network security
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal), presentation organizational skills
- Good problem-solving skills and analytical ability
- Ability to prioritize tasks at hand for self and team
REQUIREMENTS (NICE-TO-HAVES) / PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- PMP or PRINCE 2 Certification or equivalent
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- Aptitude for technology, able to learn new tools quickly
