Job Description and Qualifications
Purpose
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the store supervisor is responsible for maintaining and overseeing inventory and supplies by receiving, storing, and delivering items. In addition, they are responsible for securing the warehouse of the Air Products Barauni facility.
Working with the guidance of the Maintenance Manager to ensure the smooth and reliable operation and maintenance of all aspects of the plant, with the aim of achieving the highest plant reliability and availability .
Nature and Scope The Barauni Plant is Air Products first fully owned and operated plant in India; it represents a significant investment and includes “State of the Art” technology which makes it advanced Hydrogen Plant within the Corporation.
The plant consists of 2 main elements: -
- 1 x Large Technip Steam Methane Reformer (SMR) with Air Products PSA’s for H2 purification.
- An Air Products Air Separation Unit (ASU) Producing Nitrogen
The scope of maintenance for the Production Plants, equipment and associated systems includes: -
- Compressors, Gas Turbines, Generators, Motors, Fans, Pumps (cryogenic and other), Pressure Vessels and piping systems, Relief Valves, Heat exchangers, Furnaces, Burners, Cryogenic turbines, Computer control systems, Trip Systems, Analysis equipment etc.
The customer is Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL), Barauni refinery and the Air Products plant is located within the customer’s site. The products from the Air Products plants go directly to the customer as part of their refinery expansion. There is a high level of integration between IOCL and Air Products with respect to feedstock’s, products and utilities. The products are critical to refinery unit operations.
The plants run on continuous basis and there is a strong emphasis of high reliability and high efficiency with contractual penalties against Air Products for underperformance.
Air Products owns, operates and maintains Hydrogen Plants and ASU’s around the globe with Operations in over 50 countries, in excess of 100 hydrogen plants and 350 ASU’s. As such we have a wealth of expertise and have well established work processes in place for the reliable and efficient operation of our plants. The Plant Manger will be expected to work closely with the Global Communities of expertise and ensure consistent compliance with these work processes.
Prior to facility operation the individual will have a period of training before plant commissioning begins, where they will have a role setting up the permanent site maintenance team, establishing site procedures and participating in plant commissioning.

Principle Responsibilities
Ensure to comply with AP and local safety, health and environment standard, fulfil the mandatory safety requirement and activities: safety training, safety meeting, and all other requirements by AP EH&S and local regulation.
Responsible for verifying materials received were ordered; match to purchase order or verify with planning; while also verifying quantity delivered, inspect materials received for damage, mark inventory items with the appropriate part number/MM code and location, and notify plant personnel that materials ordered have been received.
Resolves receipt issues with material suppliers over damaged goods, shipments, incorrect materials, and delivery of materials to the incorrect staging location; and works with suppliers to arrange for pick-up items that were shipped incorrectly, damaged or were not ordered.
Prepare Daily Receipt Report and circulate to Leads.
Assists Account Payables with the resolution of receipt and invoice issues related to material deliveries.
Responsible for completing the specific Materials Management Procedure.
Responsible for ensuring that the warehouse open areas, aisles and yard are kept clean, free of trash and debris.
Performs daily visual inspection of the gas and diesel storage tanks, secondary containment, and fuel delivery systems; inspect for leaks, trash, water or foreign material within the secondary containment.
Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization.
Ensures all materials are received, inspected, stored, maintained, and issued in a timely and compliant manner.
Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system.
Ensures proper creation, filing, and dissemination of all Material related paperwork.
GR and GI entry in SAP.
Ensure good housekeeping and security of the materials.
Supervise the off-loading and storage of equipment and supplies.
Coordinate with logistic teams for material importing and exporting.
Prepares documents for all material, equipment, scrap, etc. sent off site; includes materials returned to suppliers, scrap sales, equipment sent out for repair, disposal of regulated and non-hazardous wastes, and materials sent out for fabrication.
ODC Movement coordination.
Forklift operating with valid license.
Coordinate or assist of supervision the contractor’s work in the facility to guarantee safety and quality and reliability.
Contribute to the development of EH&S related procedures in support of maintenance activities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum experience of 10 years within the material control field.
- Knowledge of Material Control practices and internal control objectives.
- Must have experience in major shutdown support, project work, plant operations.
- Good Communication & coordination skills.
- Fluent in oral and written English language.
- Knowledge of Hindi will be an added advantage.
