Job description
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dialysis Nurse to join our team. The Dialysis Nurse will be responsible for providing direct patient care to individuals with renal failure through the process of hemodialysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nephrology nursing and a passion for improving the quality of life for patients undergoing dialysis treatment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-dialysis assessments including reviewing patients' medical history, vital signs, and laboratory results.
- Set up and operate dialysis machines according to prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Administer prescribed dialysis treatments, including monitoring and adjusting machine parameters as necessary.
- Assess patients' condition during dialysis treatment and respond to any adverse reactions or complications.
- Monitor patients' vital signs throughout the dialysis procedure and document all relevant information in patients' medical records.
- Educate patients and their families about dialysis procedures, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients undergoing dialysis treatment.
- Assist with the insertion and maintenance of vascular access for dialysis treatment, including arteriovenous fistulas and grafts.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families, addressing their concerns and answering any questions related to dialysis treatment.
- Adhere to infection control policies and procedures to maintain a safe and sanitary dialysis environment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in nephrology nursing.
