Introduction to the Role: Info on BU & Dept.
Taking care of CAD and proto development of design collections for Zoya (CAD form visualization for PDIS to CAD to final proto development), translation of the designer's idea into 3d form with technical inputs and fine-tuning, mentoring and guiding CAD designers from in-house and vendor teams, primarily focused on CAD, sampling (proof of concepts) and proto development for design collections according to the Design calendar & requirements, Research work and Design trend forecasts, travelling as required for product development and company events, close working and coordination with designers to understand the concept and thought behind each product, work with them on bringing in the finer nuances, coordination with all teams like factory, vendors, brand team, etc.
Role Description:
. Understanding the brand's design-aesthetic and thought process- help build and develop differentiated product Designs (segment and price-specific range, collections, bespoke, etc.) with a keen eye for fine detailing and technical finesse in product development.
. Taking care of CAD and proto development of design collections (CAD form visualization for PDIS to CAD to final proto development), translation of the designer's idea into 3d form with the required iterations, technical detailing and fine-tuning.
. Close working and coordination with Designers, Design Manager and Design Head to understand the concept and thought behind each product, to bring alive the finer nuances that constantly help to raise the design and product differentiation for the Brand.
. Focus on CAD development, sampling (proof of concepts) and aiding proto development for design collections according to the Design calendar & requirements.
. Travelling as required for product development and company events.
. Coordinate with Designers/ NPI/ Vendors/ Sourcing/ Factory/Marketing/ Stores for development of the products and their smooth delivery within defined timelines
. Ensure 100% customer satisfaction and maximization of opportunity.
. Develop a comprehensive understanding of product trends and customer requirements through Research work, Design trend forecasts, new innovations in the fine and luxury jewelry space and how they can be applied to Zoya.
Key Deliverables
. Creating and developing designs for design collections according to the Design calendar & requirements.
. Contribution of designs to key collections and product ranges
. Mentoring a team of designers and Taking care of creation of designs and proto development (design creation, pdis making, cad to final proto development, coordinating with vendors)
. Developing a comprehensive understanding of product trends and customer requirements (Research work and Design trend forecasts)
. Coordinate with Vendors/Stores/Factory/ for development of the products and their smooth delivery
. Coordinating with Marketing, Merchandising, Retail and Consumer to build relevant products.
The right person -
. Graduate / Post graduate from NIFT/NID or relevant Institutes with specialization in jewellery
. 10-12 years' experience minimum in the areas of jewelry Design, CAD, Manufacturing & New product development
. Able to interact with several teams and stake holders confidently and understand their requirements.
Technically sound and able to guide CAD designers both in-house and with vendor partners.
. Has a strong understanding of design and visualization, willing to experiment and innovate to bring in newness
. Able to travel across vendor locations and company locations at short notice.
. Innovative: Develop new insights, able to convert market trends into Designs, products and new innovations
. Ownership: Aware of current and future trends in the jewelry market, creating and translating innovative designs with high GC products.
