Position: Welding Engineer
Experience: 515 years

Location: Trichy India
Salary Range:per month
Responsibilities:
1. Shop Floor Operations:
Oversee and manage welding operations on the shop floor ensuring compliance with relevant codes and customer specifications.
2. Weld Quality Control:
Take responsibility for weld quality control implementing regular defect analysis and conducting training programs to enhance the skills of the welding team.
3. Heat Treatment Activities:
Manage and control heat treatment activities on the shop floor ensuring they align with industry standards and project requirements.
4. Development Activities:
Drive development activities related to welding processes on the shop floor staying abreast of industry advancements and implementing best practices.
5. Coordination with Third Parties:
Coordinate with third party entities for the qualification of new Procedure Qualification Records (PQRs) and welders ensuring adherence to industry standards.
6. Technical Support:
Provide technical support to the shop vendors and project sites addressing any welding related queries or challenges that may arise.
7. Certifications and Experience:
Preferably have experience in pressure vessel or boiler manufacturing.
Possess relevant certifications such as CSWIP 3.1 CWI IWT IWE or NDE Level II which would be considered an added advantage.
Qualifications:
Hold a B.E./B. Tech degree in Metallurgy Mechanical or Production or an M.E./M. Tech degree in Welding or Metallurgy.
Have 3 to 5 years of hands on experience in welding specifically in handling WPS PQR and WPQ as per ASME Sec. IX EN standards etc.
Possess a thorough knowledge of ISO ASME IBR Codes and other relevant industry standards.
Demonstrate expertise in welding processes materials metallurgy and non destructive examination (NDE).
Display experience in preparing weld maps WPS PQR and conducting welder training and qualification.
Knowledge of welding consumables estimation and control is desired.
Ability to interpret and understand drawings and customer specifications during the enquiry stage.
Skills and Competencies:
Familiarity with Statistical Process Control & Tools (RCA/FMEA/8D).
Proficient in ERP systems Microsoft Excel Word and PowerPoint applications.
Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively within cross functional teams.
Analytical mind set selfdriven and focused on a continuous improvement approach.
Customer centric approach.
Key Performance Indicators:
Conducting process audits for standardization.
Identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities through projects and initiatives.
