Roles and Responsibilities:
- Guide in routinely inspecting electrical systems such as wiring, fixtures, and appliances.
- Identify faults or hazards and troubleshoot system failures.
- Review blueprints to understand wiring placement.
- Test electrical systems using oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and ohmmeters.
- Conduct maintenance troubleshooting on breakdown machines.
- Respond to breakdown requests.
- Provide suggestions for equipment replacement.
- Write electrical maintenance reports.
- Install new electrical appliances in the building.
- Adhere to safety and performance standards.
- Be conversant with HT sub-station and coordinate with power supply/utility companies.
- Suggest and implement effective modifications for maintaining and upgrading machines.
- Work on power-saving projects, utility data management, and focus on power quality and energy management.
- Optimize spare part cost consumption by implementing Kaizen projects.
Duties (% of Time):
- Attend daily breakdowns and update machine history for critical machines (30%)
- Allocate work to team leaders/operators for PM, PDM, and Safety PM (10%)
- Work on power-saving projects and utility data management (20%)
- Optimize spare part cost consumption by implementing Kaizen projects (10%)
- Breakdown analysis, prepare spare critical assembly of machine & spares part management (20%)
- Conduct audits for TPM/5S/ISO 14K1/IATF/LPA/CSR internal & external audits (5%)
Duties Standards:
- Reviews work orders, schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines.
- Coordinates activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines.
- Assigns preventative maintenance work orders and audits completed work orders.
- Maintains all maintenance equipment cleanliness and housekeeping.
- Conducts shift communication meetings with subordinates.
- Promotes safe working conditions and habits.
Authority:
- Spare management and raise requisitions.
- Leave management for operators and team leaders.
- Vendor evaluation.
- Decision-making during breakdown maintenance.
- Maintenance planning.
- Implementation of projects to reduce costs and improve working conditions.
- Analyses and takes corrective action for breakdowns.
KPI (Key Performance Indicators):
- Maintain breakdown % as per given target.
- Maintain energy consumption below target.
- Maintain MTBF, MTTR KPI values well within the target.
- Monitor PM effectiveness and maintain PM compliance as per targets.
Skills Required:
- About 10-15 years of proven work experience as a Maintenance Engineer.
- Experience in PLC troubleshooting/upgradation (Siemens S7 series).
- PLC programming/editing in different languages (Ladder, STL, FBD).
- CNC-FANUC controller programming and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Drive/Servo Drive troubleshooting and maintenance (SEW, Siemens).
- Conversant with communication protocols: Ethernet, DeviceNet, Profinet, Profibus, Modbus.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Experience in PID and Thyristor drive control systems.
- Familiarity with different types of sensors, control wiring, power wiring.
- Knowledge of electrical LT/HT Switchgears, ACB, VCB, CT, motors, drive (VFD), Power Panel, etc.
- Familiarity with industrial electrical systems and related Electrical Code.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Enthusiastic and occasionally able to work for long hours.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to liaison with power supply companies.
- Automation and equipment integration.
- Conversant with Utility Maintenance (Electrical & Mechanical).
- Good knowledge of Power quality optimization.
- Decision-making, judgment, analytical ability, supervisory skills.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
