We are building a dedicated Database team at Godrej Capital to optimize and streamline our data infrastructure. This is a role for a hands-on Database Architect/Vertical Lead who will spearhead the establishment and growth of this vertical, shaping the future of our data management. You will be a technical champion, with the technical expertise and strategic acumen to slowly build a world-class team, define best practices, and drive innovation in our database landscape. Responsibilities: Define the structure, processes, and tools for the new vertical, ensuring seamless integration with existing IT functions. Providing expert guidance and hands-on support on complex database administration and optimization tasks. Mentor DBA support and developers on best practices, and troubleshooting complex query execution issues. Optimised the performance. Analyze query plans, identify bottlenecks, and implement cutting-edge query optimization tools and techniques. Design and implement database solutions that meet current and future business needs, while adhering to best practices for security, performance, and redundancy. Mentor and build a high-performing DBA team, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing within the organization. Explore and implement cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to optimize database performance and efficiency. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (development, infrastructure, security) to ensure seamless data flow and alignment with business requirements. Proactively identify and implement opportunities to improve database efficiency, security, and performance. Education & Requirements: Years of experience –7 to 9 years of experience Mandatory Qualification – Engineering (B.E./ B.Tech) 7+ years of experience as a database administrator/architect, with a proven track record of success in complex database environments. Deep expertise in SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) along with strong understanding of data modeling and schema design principles. Master-level proficiency in managing databases in AWS, including experience with RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, etc. Hands-on experience designing and executing data migration, data synchronization, and CI/CD pipelines for databases. Proven ability to analyze and optimize database performance, troubleshoot complex queries, and collaborate with developers for resolution. Strong understanding of scalable computing systems, data architecture, software architecture, database structures, and algorithms. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.Job tags
