Job description

What this job involves:

Making workplace Environmental Health and safety a top priority

Environmental Health and Safety and are among the most important aspects of running a business—and JLL's workplace EHS measures are among the most lauded in the real estate industry. To uphold this image, the person in charge will focus mainly on monitoring workplace EHS through total compliance with government and local regulations.

Performing routine audits and inspections will also be within your scope. In this role, you'll comb through our systems and panels for potential issues. Likewise, you'll carry out crisis management duties during emergencies, and may even work with authorities to keep the situation confined.

  • Design document, implement and monitor overall effectiveness of the Environmental, health and safety programs
  • Organize training on Environmental aspects, Impact & Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Emergency preparedness and response plan along with other relevant areas.
  • Structured Review and strengthening of EHS as per ISO 14001:2004 / ISO 45001:2018.
  • Assure all facilities are legally compliant, conduct EHS relevant operations in compliance with applicable laws, statutory regulations and accepted practices for health, safety and environmental protection.
  • Participate and involve in all EHS audits and ensure closing of relevant audit compliances / audit observations
  • Effective design , training and implementation of RCA and CAPA
  • EHS monitoring plan to be implemented for air ,noise, water and food as per local and national applicable laws
  • Water conservation plan and implementation with specific targets
  • Identify the Environmental Aspect / Impacts and EHS Hazards related to its activities, products and services through an Initial EHS Review
  • Ensure to implement required programs in all subject areas and carry EHS related commitment & responsibilities
  • Participate and involve in all EHS audits, MRM and ensure closing of relevant audit compliances / observations and review of MOM points.
  • Organise and participate to strengthen EHS training programs at facility level
  • Provide EHS guidance and support services to the entire facilities as requested
  • Conducting Statutory Mock Drills twice in a Year and the report documented / circulated to Leadership team. Conducting adequate trainings to the Emergency Response Team.
  • Creating and sustaining a dynamic environment that fosters the development opportunities and motivates the high performers amongst the team members.
  • Ensuring the Statutory reports such as Test reports/ Returns filing/ request letter submitted to Government authorities whenever applicable.
  • Ensure all EHS record keeping and program documentation is kept up to date and in compliance with applicable standards.
  • Updating the Legal Register whenever new amendments received from Management Representative & the Site Specific EHS Monitoring Plan whenever required.
  • Follow up with statutory/Govt. authorities to renewal and receive the applicable statutory licenses as per cognizant regulatory process.
  • Reviewing EY, Delite compliance online tools on monthly basis.
  • Approving and reviewing the EHS related Catalyst whenever assigned.
  • Ensure medical health center operations and analysis of cases reported and take appropriate mitigation plan.

Promoting environmental health and safety standards to clients, team

What we're looking for is an expert who can effectively influence others toward a common goal of maintaining a healthy and safe workplace. In this role, you'll work closely with the clients and the EHS team in implementing a comprehensive energy management program that identifies risk factors.

Aside from this, you'll also be responsible for promoting our own environmental health and safety standards across the board. You must also ensure that our contractors adhere to established safety standards. Your expertise in relationship building will also be handy as you'll spearhead EHS trainings, support incident investigations, and identify opportunities for improvement.

Top-level expertise in Environmental health and safety

As the person in charge, you must have a degree in Environmental Science, and at least six years' experience in managing EHS tools and systems across complex, multisite properties. It is also highly desirable to have Lead Auditor Qualifications, Chartered Membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH) certification or any other equivalent. An in-depth understanding of international safety standards is also a big plus.

Likewise, the ideal candidate must demonstrate proficiency in root cause analysis, management system auditing and EHS-related research. You must also show a flair for reports and presentations—providing smart insights and developing policies when needed.

Likewise, you are a results-driven leader with impeccable organisational skills and superior business acumen.

You must also have excellent negotiation skills and expert-level background in policies, codes of practice and operating procedures. Furthermore, you must demonstrate an ability to work both independently and with a group. A proven capacity to handle multicultural teams is also a big plus.
