Job description
- Accounts for coding and abstracting of patient encounters, including diagnostic and procedural information, significant reportable elements, and complications.
- Liaising with physicians and other parties to clarify information.
- Examining documents for missing information.
- Assigning CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, and ASA codes.
- Ensuring documents are grammatically correct and free from typing errors.
- Advising and training physicians and staff on medical coding.
- Ensuring compliance with medical coding policies and guidelines.
SKILLS REQUIRED (If any)
Certification
Medical coding certification is mandatory, preferably CPC, COC
Specialty Preference
Experience in E&M coding, ED (Facility), levelling skills. Only ERDX chart type is not preferable.
