Main responsibilities : Produce FDT stress substantiation related to design repair solutions:
Consult the Design Sheet, Technical Disposition and associated Repair Instructions.
Fatigue Justification
Comparative approach: use engineering judgement to show that TD damage is justified by previous repair solution justification
Analytical approach: use hand calculation and reference data (KT curves) to recalculate stress concentration factors and IQF/AFI law parameters to justify acceptable fatigue lives either based on previous repairs, certification reports or test results
Numerical approach: conduct a local FEM (SAFE/ISAMI) analysis to confirm fastener load transfer rates and stress concentrations
Damage Tolerance Justification
Comparative approach: use engineering judgement to show that TD damage is justified by previous repair solution justification
Numerical approach: conduct analysis (SAFE/ISAMI) to confirm crack propagation rates and residual strengthk stresses.
