About the Role: We are looking for a

Data Science Leader

who will be a player-coach with ability to “make the complex simple” for a highly skilled team of data scientists and ML engineers. He/ She will work collaboratively with business units and product management function to provide research, development, production support for creating differentiated market offerings, accelerating new solution development, and go-to-market, etc. He/ She will develop and implement a robust strategy for building deep data science capabilities with reliable team of experts, support roles, partnerships, and tools, etc. to deliver complex analytics and ML projects.

About the Candidate: HE/ She must be an expert in using advance analytics and ML techniques, data mining and modelling techniques, programming, and knowledge (intuition, theory including maths) for real world business applications. Is passionate about solving important problems which will help people live longer, healthier, and more productive life. Makes intellectual contribution to broader industry through talks and publications. Is a sharp observer of current data science landscape and a hardliner of ethics in data and AI operationalization.

Education: Must have a Masters (Ph.D. is desirable) in Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or any other closely related field.

Experience: Must have 15-18 years of total experience with at least 10-12 years of highly relevant data science and machine learning experience (any experience of applied research will be extremely valuable for the role). Prior experience in Pharma/ Healthcare domain is preferred.

Must have skills: Experience in achieving improvement in LLM performance for tasks such as question answering, information extraction, long-form text generation, and summarization, etc. to enhance its ability to generate outputs that are factually accurate and complete (reduce hallucinations and omissions, etc), especially in medical tasks. He/ she must have skills in prompt tuning and/or fine-tuning Large Language Models (LLMs) using innovative approaches (e.g., chain-of-thought prompting and self-consistency, chunking and conditioning based on local similarity, dialogue resolution, reinforcement learning with human feedback, etc.). Ideal candidate must also be able to create frameworks for evaluation of LLM out-put based on human expert in the loop and quantitative metrics. It is important that the person in this role can apply a combination of machine learning, deep learning, statistical methods, classical algorithms, etc. in areas of forecasting, prediction, attribution, recommendation, user experience measurements, journey orchestration and personalization, etc. Should be able to create fundamental representation of the problem and design suitable experimental methodologies including algorithm selection, data/sample size estimates, training process design, testing and performance metrics, privacy safeguards, etc. Should be conversant in applying different optimization techniques including data mining, and other data driven optimization. Expertise in implementing MLOps for automation (CI/CD/CT) and streamlining of ML workflows for deployment, monitoring and management of ML models in production at scale.
