Role : Database administratorLocation : Mumbai / bangalore / DelhiSkillset : Oracle, SQL, MongoDB, Postgresql.Analytical tools : Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Google Analytics.Job description :Position Overview : - As a Database Administrator (DBA), you will be responsible for ensuring the security, availability, and performance of the databases in an organization. - You will manage and maintain the database systems, troubleshoot issues, implement security measures, and optimize database performance.Key Responsibilities : Database Installation and Configuration : - Install and configure database management systems (DBMS) such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.- Set up and configure database servers according to best practices and organizational requirements.Database Maintenance and Monitoring : - Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures.- Monitor database performance and proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks.- Implement and maintain database security measures to protect data integrity and confidentiality.Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution : - Investigate and troubleshoot database-related issues, such as performance problems, data corruption, and connectivity issues.- Work with development teams to diagnose and resolve database-related application issues.Database Optimization and Performance Tuning : - Optimize database queries and schema designs to improve performance.- Identify and implement strategies to improve database performance and scalability.Database Design and Development : - Collaborate with developers and system architects to design database solutions that meet business requirements.- Develop and maintain database schemas, tables, indexes, and other database objects.Documentation and Reporting : - Document database configurations, procedures, and best practices.- Generate reports on database performance, usage statistics, and security audits.Capacity Planning and Scaling : - Perform capacity planning to ensure that the database infrastructure can support current and future needs.- Plan and execute database scaling activities as needed to accommodate growth.Patch Management and Upgrades : - Manage database software patches and upgrades in coordination with other IT teams.- Test and deploy database upgrades in a controlled environment to minimize downtime and disruptions. Required Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.- Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.- In-depth knowledge of database management systems (DBMS), database design principles, and database administration best practices.- Proficiency in SQL and experience with database query optimization.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining data integrity and security.Preferred Qualifications : - Certification in database administration (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified : Azure Database Administrator Associate, etc.).- Experience with cloud-based database platforms (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL, etc.).- Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis.- Experience with database automation and scripting (e.g., using PowerShell, Python, or Bash).- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for database deployment and management.
