Overview

The Technical Sales and Proposal Engineer plays a critical role in the organization by combining technical expertise with salesmanship to effectively communicate the value of the company's products and services to potential clients. This role is essential in creating and delivering compelling proposals to secure new business opportunities, contributing significantly to the company's growth and success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand customer requirements and offer suitable technical solutions
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to customers
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Create and submit technical and commercial proposals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proposal completeness and accuracy
  • Participate in contract negotiations and technical discussions
  • Provide sales support and technical assistance to the sales team
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities
  • Conduct product demonstrations and training sessions for customers
  • Manage and prioritize multiple proposals and sales projects
  • Assist in forecasting sales and developing sales strategies
  • Travel to customer sites as needed for presentations or technical discussions
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of sales and proposal processes
  • Track and report on sales and proposal activities and results

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • Proven experience in technical sales and proposal writing
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and technical concepts
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to understand customer needs and articulate product benefits
  • Project management experience with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in CRM software and MS Office suite
  • Experience in customer relationship management and business development
  • Knowledge of market research and sales forecasting
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality proposals
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and quality
  • Adherence to ethical standards and compliance regulations
