Why this job matters

This job matters as the purpose of this job is to be the overall lead on complex win business solutions and to deliver a contract/solution and support the operation of that solution during the period of the contract (CTO function). The job drives innovation into the customer accounts and works on business development. The job really understands the impact of the solution offered by BT and design a programme to deliver ensuring that technical solutions can be delivered while BT continues to make a profit. The Managed service Proposition is a major growth sector for Global and is currently undergoing a major Transformational programme to re-architect the BSS and OSS system stack to a strategic one. This role is a critical one to deliver the technical solutions to underpin the Digital and Contact Portfolio transformation projects and will involve working across matrixed collaboration project teams.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Accountable for supporting the delivery of customer facing and internal facing projects that will have a high degree of visibility both internally and externally.
  • Supporting the PM with the management of network and exchange closures where we will be migrating customers from non-IP products & services to new IP based products & services.
  • Working with One Business and Openreach to support their exchange closure programme through the prioritisation of exchanges and closure dates.
  • Act as a customer champion. Establishes customer needs, uses operational and technical expertise to deliver.
  • Brilliant experiences by resolving customer issues and delivery quality and timeliness. Understanding the customer business context and the impacts the programme has on successful business outcomes.
  • Reporting on the WIP (Working in Progress) for legacy closure projects.
  • Interfacing with BAU delivery teams across the BT functions.
  • Responsible for delivering WIP and supporting the Project Manager in achieving these levels.
  • Accountable for identifying and managing WIP.
  • Taking responsibility for leading the WIP and appropriate plans and controls to ensure successful delivery.
  • Manages delivery and project risks in WIP.
  • Works in collaboration with the Client Services teams to ensure consistent delivery to customers.
  • Works in collaboration with All IP programme such as Sales Engagement, Capabilities and Project and Professional teams.
  • Provide direction to the team on requirements, scope, timescale and quality expectations.
  • Own and manage any incidents or escalations, devising solutions with other business areas as required, implementing these in the network to deliver value to BT and their customers.

Skills And Experience Required

  • Be Agile: You use your knowledge of best practice to collaborate with peers across the business in different ways. You should be an expert devOps Engineer in your area of development expertise.
  • Give Specialized Advice: You offer advice and recommendations based on your expertise both proactively and on request.
  • Experience in leading high performing teams, delivering large projects.
  • Knowledge and experience of programme management best practices, e.g. governance, templates and deliverables
  • Experience of building a culture of learning that connects a tool or application to the underlying behavioral and cultural shift needed
  • Functional Exposure: It will be desirable if you have prior exposure to BSS/OSS Platforms as well as Network and Process
  • Good WIP management skills with experience of delivering solutions to customers.
  • Able to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders (Senior Management level) to collaborate and carry out the functions of the role.
  • Maintain close connection and strong relationships with key stakeholders in the operation of project delivery.
  • Great attention to detail and willingness to work within a fast paced and demanding environment.
  • High degree of personal resilience.
  • Ability to work with complete independence / autonomy and demonstrate initiative.
  • Boldness. Ability to remove internal / external barriers.
  • Ability to network and form relationships. Expected to have a good internal network.

  • Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • WIP management skills also desirable.
  • Vendor Management skill also desirable.
  • Knowledge of legacy Products and delivery within these products.
  • Business Development: Has some experience in the principles surrounding business development and identifying compelling sales proposals to meet customer needs.
  • Product Specifics: High Level of understanding of the Global Voice and Contact products

Stakeholders include: - MSP Portfolio Tribe Lead, Head of Engineering, MSP – Delivery lead, Propositions teams, DigiCo / MSP leadership team.
