· Will be responsible for managing and overseeing the accounting and finance department for the company's e-commerce division.
· Will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, maintain proper internal controls, and provide financial guidance and support for business decision making.
· Managing e-commerce accounting, including reconciling transactions and booking invoices for commission, shipping, and marketing expenses.
· Handling marketplace reconciliation, including reconciling transactions and checking all the expenses like commission, shipping, and marketing expenses on marketplaces like Flipkart and Amazon etc.
· Responsible for day-to-day oversight of the companies' tax affairs and compliance including new tax requirements and jurisdictions
· Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, taxes and GST.
· Help with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit
· Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements
· Prepare, review, and analyse financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
· Manage general ledger accounting functions
· Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end
· Collaborate with management on development and execution of funding strategies
· Examine financial and legal documents to verify accuracy and adherence to financial regulations and acceptable financial principles
· Develop or recommend solutions for problems or situations
· Analyses revenue, expenses, cash flows, and balance sheets.
· Assists management to make financial decisions.
· Maintains an accurate filing and record keeping system for all financial statements and company documents.
· Participates in the execution of changes to procedures, policies, and systems to facilitate expansion, compliance, and scaling of the business.
Requirements and skills
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CA / ICWA will be preferred.
· 12+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role
· Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases Knowledge.
· Excellent verbal and written communication
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with other financial systems.
· Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
