The Commercial Application Engineer will be responsible for delivering & executing profitable Techno-Commercial proposals for the Bently Nevada (Industrial Solutions) Business as well as developing and implementing techno-commercial strategies which will drive volume and margin growth.
As a Commercial Application Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Being responsible for all techno-commercial aspects of proposal management, including scope development, specification compliance, pricing, margins calculation, risk management & mitigation, customer negotiations, project handover and issue resolution.
- Identifying & develop, in collaboration with all the supporting functions viz. Sales, ASAs, Engineering, OTR, Finance, Legal, Sourcing etc., the best techno-commercial solutions to meet Customers' requirements as well as meet or exceed Organization's goals.
- Creating a 'trusted techno-commercial resource' relationship with our clients and internal stakeholders.
- Developing SW/HW solutions for Machine Monitoring System & Condition Monitoring System in Oil & Gas, Process, and other Industries.
- Working with the customers (along with Sales) to develop solutions that are compliant to their needs and standards, and that provide commercial and technical advantage.
- Having Technical acumen to interface with technologists, understand complex concepts and translate in a way that businesses or industry can understand.
- Collaborating during the deal review process to ensure that all technical & commercial risk points, risk mitigation, and business risk acceptance levels are properly incorporated in the development of the scope, right cost, deal structure and proposal wording and deal closure.
- Interfacing with the Product Leadership, Global & Regional teams to leverage their expertise and create value proposition for customer.
- Measuring on proposal timelines, proposals $ & volume, handling technical & commercial queries, orders, proposal defects, ITO misses in handovers etc.

To be successful in this role you will have:
- Have Engineering Graduate background with a good understanding of Industrial Equipment, Plant, Projects etc.
- Have At least 8-10 years Industrial Experience in Energy Industry, out of which at least 5 years of experience in Engineering, Proposals, Services/ Project Management role.
- Have Knowledge of HW/SW solutions for CMS/MMS in Process/ Oil & Gas Industry.
- Have Basic knowledge of commercial aspects, terms and conditions, negotiation etc.
- Have Experience in working in multi-cultural teams to develop and execute commercial growth plans in a matrix environment commercially intense market.
- Have the Ability to deal with ambiguity and have Strong Business Acumen with reasonable mathematical & logical ability.
- Have Customer focused mindset with proven ability to respond quickly to customer needs.
