Hybrid Working

Structured hybrid role:
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, 'anchor', days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.

Introduction:

The role will report into the Head of Model Risk Controls within the Group Model Risk Governance team and will primarily be responsible for supporting Risk Appetite and the CERPA and RCSA processes. The role will also be responsible for identifying and supporting delivery of continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen the control environment. In addition, the role will also be required to support ad-hoc tactical and strategic deliverables as part of the broader MRM mandate and roadmap.

What will you be doing

The role holder will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

. Operational Risk Oversight:

- Support the Connected Risk team lead with establishing the Model Connected Risk Framework, including defining the Framework scope and approach and developing a Forum/Working Group to maintain oversight of connected risks.
- Review and analyse relevant Risk reporting, including CERPA reports, and liaise with stakeholders, to assess Issue root cause, impact, escalation, and remediation
- Support the Connected Risk team lead with production of high-quality materials, presentations, and communications, feeding into the various governance bodies covering Model Risk.
- Automation / rationalisation of key reports to improve overall efficiency ensuring a robust audit trail of results and findings are maintained.
- PoC for stakeholder engagement across the bank covering queries related to Model Connected Risk

. Other:

- Support the wider Group Model Risk Governance and MRM team, as and when required on ad hoc deliverables

What we're looking for:

. Experience operating within a Risk and/or Control environment
. An ability to effectively review, synthesise and interrogate data/information
. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at various levels of seniority
. A team player who is comfortable working in a dynamic environment and with a variety of stakeholders at various levels of seniority
. Ability to manage multiple deliverables in parallel, prioritise these accordingly and meet their associated deadlines
. Highly organised and proactive, with excellent attention to detail
. Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite

Skills that will help you in the role:

. Preferred qualifications - CA, MBA, or Engineering.
. Experience in documenting processes and procedures
. Experience with Barclays Control Framework
. Experience with Model Risk Management Framework
. An understanding of the Operational Risk and Controls (ORAC) system
. An understanding of the Standardised Control Book (SCB) reporting solution
. Experience in working with quantitative teams
