Position Summary:
The Storage Administrator needs to implement and manage storage systems and infrastructure components for enterprise, mission critical, computing environments under occasional guidance. The Storage Administrator will provide support services for storage administration, performance tuning, monitoring and capacity planning. Build storage infrastructure to support the business environment. Recommend, develop and enforce policies and procedures for maintaining the security and integrity of data. Implement small development projects or components of large projects. Ability to solve medium to complex problems.
Candidate joining this position will be acting as a Storage Administrator involved to some major critical tasks including: -
- Managing VM specific storage administration via SPMB
- Defining SAN/NAS related policies to manage allocations using technologies such as zoning
- Provide timely resolution to storage related incidents within defined TAT
- Implement storage expansion/reduction changes on vSphere
- Disk management via continuous CPU performance and Disk I/O monitoring to provide stability to environment
- Develop Disaster recovery and backup strategies
- Follow change and testing processes for alterations to storage devices appliances and softwares
- Actively monitor data center health by maintaining growth forecast
- Volume Creation, Volume Mapping, Host Initiator Creation, Troubleshooting Volume Mapping Problems
- Configure and Implement storage technologies such as NAS, SAN, NFS and Zerto
- Review Linux and SQL File system documents to implement the requested expansions and related changes
- Work in conjunction with DB Teams to understand and implement the storage related tasks
- Generate reports and analysis of storage usage for optimization and growth planning
- Perform hot/cold migration, Vmotion etc. to provide stability to the environment
- Verify backup operations and troubleshoot as needed
- Install, configure, upgrade and maintain storage technologies for VMware/ESX, HPE and other OEM products
- Maintain Service Now workflows for request intake and reporting requirements

- ServiceNow competent
- Experience of Storage Console
- Understanding of vSphere workflows and processes
- Working knowledge of monitoring tool
- Knowledge on Managing Storage Consoles
- Knowledge on VMWare Virtualization Tools
- Experience in Managing Capacity on Shared Data Centers
- Ability to resolve critical issues and potential impact
- Hosting and managing Conference calls and providing follow up on actions
Experience:
- 8 plus years of total experience with at least 6 years in Storage administration
- Good experience in Service Now
- Strong technical writing skills
- Strong communication skills
- Flexible in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in an online operation and/or online escalations environment
- Maintains calm focus and communicates effectively
- Strong communicator and presentation skills
- Comfortable in managing escalations stakeholder
- Awareness of the importance of data and key performance metrics
- Ability to perform in a complex, high-stakes, fast-paced environment

Education:
- B.Tech or bachelor’s in computer science
