About the Role

Role Title: Associate Director, Architecture
Location: Hyderabad

Role Purpose:
Reporting directly to the Head of the DevIT Architecture, the primary responsibilities of this role are:
• Implementing the architecture governance in the Clinical domain by leveraging the Enterprise Architecture framework and adapting it to the functional domain.
• Defining the strategy, and the target Architecture for the Clinical domain working closely with the Global function leadership team and the business. Identify gaps, analyse new demand from the business and propose high level solutions aligned with the target architecture.
• Defining and maintaining the roadmaps for transitioning from the AS-IS to the TO-BE architecture.
• Optimizing the application portfolio leveraging the Application portfolio Optimization framework provided by the Enterprise Architecture Group.
• Provide expert consulting to the DEVIT Leadership team to ensure an optimal architecture and design of an investment portfolio in Clinical solutions.
• Defining and supporting the build of good quality solutions matching the business functional and non-functional requirements, by overseeing a team of Business Technology Architects and Solution Architects and leveraging the existing reference frameworks. Ultimately accountable for the technical and Information architecture of its domain.
• Collaborating with Enterprise Architecture to define frameworks and reference architectures, and a standing member of the Architecture Board
• This role is a critical driver for improved IT alignment with business, optimization of the application portfolio and prioritization of IT investments against business objectives.
• This role is also a critical driver of improved platform and standards lifecycle management leading to reduced cycle times, improved IT service quality, and ultimately a better operating cost structure for IT.

Role Requirements

Roles and responsibilities:

Architecture Governance.
1. Accountable for deploying the architecture governance practices. Accountable to perform the required architecture reviews for the functional domain
2. Accountable for maintaining the reference artefacts for the functional domain and for aligning them with the defined stakeholders (e.g: Business capability map aligned with business).Accountable for creating and maintaining the Information Architecture of its domain.

Defining the strategy, and the target Architecture
1. Accountable for the definition of the global domain strategy & vision by analysing the enterprise business context (trends and business strategy), the technology trends, the leading practice for the domain and the changes requirements of the other EA viewpoints (security, information architecture).Develop and communicate the various viewpoints (Application, Information, Capability and Process, Security, Extensibility, etc.) of the future state architecture for the Global Function.

Defining and maintaining the roadmaps
1. Accountable for developing and maintaining the road maps describing the evolution of the Technology Domain solution portfolio from the current state to the future state. Assure that the application lifecycle events defined in Clarity are aligned with those roadmaps. Accountable to ensure alignment of plans with the domain PMO (including migration plans and road maps) and business case, so that the Project Portfolio managers get the accurate information for project prioritization.

Optimizing the Application Portfolio
1. Accountable for Application Portfolio Management for its domain, ensuring all application data are correctly defined in Clarity with appropriate lifecycle events. Accountable for optimizing the application portfolio leveraging the Enterprise Application Portfolio Optimization framework and working closely with the business and the Global IT Function leadership team.
2. Consult with application or infrastructure development projects to harmonize systems or infrastructure with the Domain.

Provide expert consulting to the DEVIT Leadership team to ensure an optimal architecture and design
1. Support & influence business partners and customers in the business architecture.Guide business architecture decisions for the Clinical domains.
2. Ensure that TO BE architecture support Clinical business needs to ensure that solutions are robust, scalable, flexible to support business growth and evolving clinical models.

Defining and supporting the build of good quality solutions
1. Lead the business technology architects and solution architects of the domain, and perform the required solution architecture reviews, following the governance defined by Enterprise Architecture.Guide solution decisions for the Clinical domains.
2. Assure that the key solutions of the Clinical domains (Enterprise Standard, cross division or division standards) have a documented architecture (Aka Architecture Handbook) stored in a common repository serviced by EA.

Collaborating with Enterprise Architecture
1. Act as communication and coordination channel through interactions with Enterprise Architecture and other Domain Architecture organizations and leaders. Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture in the definition of frameworks and reference architecture.
2. Understand and advocate the principles of business and IT strategies, as well as of EA development and service delivery. Be prepared to "sell" the EA service, its outcome and ongoing results, and to lead the communication, marketing or educational activities needed to ensure Enterprise Architecture success and use. Strongly promote and advocate EA principles and practices among peers and leaders. "Sell" the enterprise architecture process, its outcome and on-going results.

Essential Requirements:

Education & Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a computer science, engineering or information technology discipline. An advanced degree and relate
