Assistant Buyer
Showcase is a national retailer with 150 stores across North America and the Assistant Buyer role is at the heart of the most entrepreneurial exciting and fastpaced buying department in retail.
This role involves assisting a Senior Buyer in all buying functions including:
Making initial contact with new vendors requesting and inspecting samples conducting research and coordinating the submission of quotations
Coordinating with vendors and internal departments such as accounting store operations ecommerce marketing and training
Administering Purchase Orders inventory pickups payments (through our accounting department) shipment followups and customs documents
Updating SAP spreadsheets and other documents with the latest information
Perform daily/routine tasks to support the Senior Buyer including helping with administrative and logistics aspects of the Buying Department to meet the company goals.
Communicate and maintain product relationships with overseas vendors on a daily basis
Update/monitor inbound shipments and address any supply chain disruptions
The successful candidate will have:
5 years of successful retail buying administration buying assistance or logistics experience
A sense of process and discipline to run a tight ship
Strong written and spoken English
Strong computer skills especially moderate to advanced Excel for mathematical models forecasting and performance analysis
Working day: 5 day (SatSun off)
Timing: 3 PM to 1 AM
