Overview TRC Companies is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Reconciliation Specialist to join our HR team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of payroll transactions by reconciling payroll data, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of payroll processes.
Responsibilities - Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of payroll data to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in payroll records, tax withholdings, and benefits deductions.
- Stay current on federal, state, and local tax regulations to ensure payroll compliance.
- Prepare and analyze payroll reports, providing insights and recommendations for process improvements.
- Generate ad-hoc reports as needed for internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to address payroll-related inquiries and resolve issues.
- Communicate effectively with the Payroll Supervisor regarding payroll matters.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation in the payroll reconciliation process.
Qualifications Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in payroll processing and reconciliation.
- Proficient in using payroll software and advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
- Understanding of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications - Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.
- Experience with [specific payroll software/system].
- Familiarity with multi-state payroll processing.
