Job description

As the Category Manager of Welding, you will oversee and manage the welding materials category. Your role will involve developing and implementing category strategies, ensuring product quality, managing supplier relationships, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize the overall efficiency of our platform.

Responsibilities:

1. Category Strategy:

- Develop and execute a strategic plan for the welding materials category, in alignment with the company's overall objectives.

- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competition to optimize the welding category assortment.

2. Supplier Management :

- Source, evaluate, and manage relationships with welding materials suppliers to establish a reliable and cost-effective supply chain.

- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.

3. Product Development :

- Collaborate with suppliers to introduce new and innovative welding products to the platform.

- Work closely with the product development team to enhance the welding category offering based on customer feedback and market demands.

4. Quality Assurance :

- Implement and maintain stringent quality standards for welding materials, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and customer expectations.

- Conduct regular product quality assessments and address any issues promptly.

5. Sales and Marketing Collaboration :

- Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop effective strategies for promoting welding materials to the target audience.

- Provide product training and support to the sales team to enhance their product knowledge and selling capabilities.

6. Inventory Management :

- Collaborate with the supply chain team to optimize inventory levels, reduce lead times, and enhance overall logistics efficiency.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

- Proven experience (3+ years) in a category management role within the welding materials or related industry.

- In-depth knowledge of welding materials, techniques, and industry standards.

- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
