Job description
Staff Engineers are recognized experts in multiple technology domains relevant to Gridlex, and represent the senior technical leadership within their organization. They are responsible for driving the direction of their part of the organization, assisting management and other senior technical leaders create strategic roadmaps, and driving priorities to meet various objectives.
Job Responsibilities:

- Manage organization-wide technical commitments in harmony with long-term roadmaps.
- Lead in improving organizational practices and processes.
- Collaborate across several teams, helping them make informed decisions that align with the organization's strategic plans.
- Identify opportunities to reuse or generalize existing services and product features to prevent duplicated effort.
- Highlight technology and organizational needs within the organization.
- Educate, mentor, and provide guidance to domain experts and individual contributors across several teams.
- Take an active part in team design reviews and influence technical, business, and organizational strategies.
- Play a central role in technical, business, and organizational contributions affecting the engineering, testing, product and UX teams
- Plan and strategize improvements and features with a 6-month view.
- Contribute to high-priority company projects.
- Resolve highly complex and ambiguous technical problems for the engineering and product teams.
- Interface with the CEO, technical leads, engineers, product, and UX teams to discuss company-wide topics.
- Identify innovation opportunities across teams and take on complex problems with a willingness to experiment.
- Propose initial technical implementations that support architectural changes to solve scaling and performance problems.
- Facilitate conversations to remove obstacles and encourage collaboration across teams.
- Provide escalation support for teams facing complex technical challenges.
- Create a measurable impact on the work of engineering teams.
- Engage with customers and other external stakeholders as a representative of the company.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all specialties within the Engineering organization.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years spent in technical lead or architect roles.
- Proven experience in building large-scale distributed systems, such as high-volume SaaS environments.
- Proficiency in our technology stack, including Python, Django, React, Postgres, and AWS, is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment, with a knack for identifying high-impact areas and independently pursuing them.
- An established track record of influencing and enabling progressive technology decisions across a broad organization.
- Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts with clarity and precision, both in written and verbal forms.
