A Technical Writer is responsible for producing high-quality technical documentation appropriate to its intended audience. This includes working with internal teams on product and document requirements. Writing easy-to-use user interface text or online help content is in addition to job duties.
Responsibilities
- Research, outline, write, and edit content, working closely on various projects to understand project requirements.
- Gather information from subject-matter experts and develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.
- Work with development and support leads to identify documentation repositories, revise and edit, and determine the best solutions for data compilation and centralized storage.
- Research, create, and maintain information architecture templates that adhere to organizational and legal standards and allow for easy data migration.
- Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with a consistent voice across all documentation.
- Create Script for Course Video Content, Technical Lesson Plans, Technical Teaching documents, etc.,
Required skills and qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in computer science needed. Preferably BCA, B.E CSE, B.E IT.
- 4 or 6 years of experience as an effective technical writer
- Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter.
- Experience in writing documentation and procedure manuals for various audiences
- Superb written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Experience in working with engineers to improve user experience (ex: design, UI), refine content, and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Firm understanding of SDLC (systems development lifecycle)
- Previous experience in software development
- Experience in using XML tools to create documentation.
- Ability to present complex data in clear, concise text.
- Ability to meet deadlines and to work independently.
- Ability to edit and proofread the work of colleagues.
- Good understanding of JAVA, SQL, UI & PYTHON
