We believe “Innovation is the Key” and Zaggle has been instrumental with launching multiple successful products in the last 3 years in the Business Spend Management space. Today we are a 300+ member strong team spread across Technology, Product, Sales, Implementation Services, Finance, Marketing, HR, Legal and Support functions with 7 office locations in India.

Job Summary: With the next big leap in this space, we are seeking an experienced Vice President of Engineering to lead a growing team of Engineers that builds and scales our spend management products. As the Vice President of Engineering at Zaggle, you will lead a dynamic team comprising Directors of Engineering Management, Engineering Managers, QA Managers, and their respective teams. Your role is pivotal in delivering the engineering strategy, fostering a culture of innovation, and driving the technical vision of our spend management products.

As a technical leader, you own the product engineering, oversee the technical solutions. Below is how you would allocate your bandwidth:

Strategic Planning and Vision (30%): Work closely with the CTO in defining and delivering the engineering roadmap, aligning with the company’s strategic objectives, and ensuring technological advancements are in pace with business goals Leadership and Team Management (25%): Overseeing the Directors of Engineering Management, Engineering Managers, Project managers, and QA Managers. Responsible for the overall management, mentoring, and growth of the engineering teams Cross-Functional Collaboration (20%): Working closely with Product Management, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support to ensure seamless integration and alignment of engineering efforts with other business functions. Collaborate with the CTO/Architecture team that is working on long-term strategic goals and technological innovation. Process Optimization and Innovation (25%): Ensuring engineering processes are efficient and robust. Overseeing QA strategies to maintain high standards of product quality Keeping abreast with emerging technologies and industry trends, and guiding the teams in implementing innovative solutions

Responsibilities: Develop and execute engineering strategies that align with the company’s vision and market needs. Lead and expand the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Drive the continuous improvement of software development practices and standards. Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technological solutions. Ensure product scalability, reliability, and performance. Maintain and enhance quality assurance protocols to guarantee the highest quality of deliverables. Manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively. Represent the engineering team in executive meetings and contribute to organizational strategy.

Experience: Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 12+ years of experience in software development, with significant leadership experience in managing large engineering teams. Proven track record in strategic planning, team building, and project management. In-depth knowledge of SaaS platforms, cloud technologies, and modern software development practices. Strong problem-solving skills, with an ability to navigate complex challenges. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for inspiring and leading teams. Prior experience in a FinTech or similar fast-paced tech environment is a plus.

What would an Ideal profile look like: Engineering Leadership role at a B2B SaaS company. Successfully delivered enterprise applications. Has at least 1 year experience in the current role as an AVP Engineering or Sr. Director of Engineering, managing an engineering team of 50 plus. Has at least 4 years of experience in a product company.
