Role:

The Senior Pay Center Specialist is responsible for time entry and payroll calculation activities to support the payroll of our United States skilled tradesperson/associate workforce. The Pay Center Specialist reports to the Center Team Lead and is located in Gurugram, Haryana, India. This role will be assigned to offices located in the United States with more complex hour and wage laws (such as the State of California). This role requires shift work that aligns with United States operations to complete weekly payroll processing within mandatory timelines.

Essential Duties and responsibilities

include the following:

Uploads and validates hours loaded into proprietary payroll system. Manually input hours into the payroll system, where required. Where required, manually calculate overtime according to Federal and State law. Obtains approval for manually calculated overtime and provides to the team for input. Where required, inputs and overrides pay or billing overtime system calculations by customer requirements, in compliance with United States Federal and State overtime laws. Obtains manager approval for timecards with unresolved discrepancies to ensure employee is paid within mandated timelines. Review and record payroll data in our software system and verify all amounts before issuing payments. Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information. every week, provides timecard copies with customer invoices, where required by customers. Obtains approval and processes incoming invoicing/payroll adjustments for workers and customers. Maintains completed payout records for auditing purposes for both regular and certified payroll reporting. Maintains working knowledge of Federal and State overtime rules. Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions and direct deposit information. Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; identifies process improvement ideas. Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential. Records employee complaints, questions, and concerns about Pay Center services and communicate those issues to the Pay Center Team Lead. Provide answers to Customer Care Center specialists for inquiries regarding all aspects of payroll, insurance, and other benefits. Answer telephone inquiries for escalated Customer Service requests regarding more complex aspects of payroll, insurance, and other benefits. Assist auditors (e.g. data, answers to questions, etc.) to provide required information.

Qualification, Knowledge and Experience:

University degree and

3-4 years

related payroll experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software programs. General knowledge of principles, practices & and methods of office procedures and practices including records management and document processing. Knowledge of basic payroll principles. Effective communication skills in English (both oral and written). Ability to maintain strict confidence about sensitive and protected confidential information. Positive attitude and the ability to be empathetic and flexible. Possess effective interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to all levels of management and employees. Ability to handle high volume workload efficiently.

Competencies:

Ability to read and follow SOP instructions Ability to write correspondence using email or Teams. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute overtime laws. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram.
