Position: - Simulation Engineer (R&D) (Priority : High)
Software Knowledge: - ANSYS.
Minimum Experience : 2-3 Years
About the Position: -
We are seeking highly motivated and experienced Battery Engineer (CFD) with expertise in Mechanical/Thermal Engineering to join our new venture. We our building an R&D team of 10 individuals to focus on the development of advanced battery systems for High Voltage ESS applications. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering and experience with battery research and development.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop advanced battery systems for Energy Storage Applications
• Evaluate battery to meet product requirements and R&D objectives
• Define and validate standard test procedures, equipment, and protocols for R&D purposes
• Introduction to various types of batteries and their construction, including cylindrical, prismatic, and pouch types
• Understanding of typical battery failures and the ability to identify and mitigate battery thermal runway events
• Conduct thermal management cooling load calculations and select components to meet battery cooling requirements
• Conduct battery CFD and electrothermal simulation using tools such as Fluent and StarCCM+
• Perform structural analysis using tools such as Ansys Mechanical and Abaqus
• Conduct life prediction using tools such as nCode
• Ability to perform multi-physics simulation
• Stay current with advances in battery technology and industry trends, and make recommendations for new technologies and design approaches as appropriate
• Expertise in liquid cooling system design for electronic applications and the ability to conduct thermal calculations for electronics
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering or related field
• Experience in battery pack research and development for EV/ESS
• Strong understanding of battery chemistry, electrical and thermal analysis, and battery management systems
• Experience with industry-standard simulation and analysis tools, such as ANSYS, MATLAB, and Simulink
• In-depth knowledge of battery thermal management, battery testing procedures, and battery CFD simulation
• Familiarity with battery production and manufacturing processes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Strong leadership and mentorship skills, with a proven track record of leading successful R&D projects
• Experience with mechanical design and analysis, including materials selection, mechanical testing, and tolerance analysis
• Proven ability to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality work
• Ensure the mechanical design of battery systems meets both functional and performance requirements
• Mentor and support junior team members as they contribute to our R&D efforts
