Primary Purpose

As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and implementing security measures to protect our organization's information systems. This role involves close collaboration with IT teams, adherence to industry standards (FISMA, SOC-2, ISO27001, FedRAMP), and managing vulnerabilities to mitigate potential risks.

Responsibilities

  • Security Monitoring and Incident Response:
  • Monitor security alerts and incidents, promptly responding to and investigating potential security threats.
  • Implement incident response procedures and ensure timely resolution of security incidents.
  • Compliance Management:
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and industry best practices (FISMA, SOC-2, ISO27001, FedRAMP).
  • Participate in audits and assessments to validate compliance.
  • Vulnerability Management:
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and analyze scan results.
  • Develop and execute plans to patch or mitigate vulnerabilities within established timelines.
  • Security Governance:
  • Contribute to the development and enforcement of cybersecurity policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure security governance is integrated into daily operations.
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
  • Establish and monitor KPIs related to security incidents, vulnerability management, and compliance.
  • Provide regular reports to management on the state of cybersecurity within the organization.
  • Security Awareness:
  • Conduct training sessions to enhance security awareness among staff members.
  • Foster a culture of cybersecurity consciousness throughout the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) are preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience in cybersecurity roles.
  • Hands-on experience with security monitoring tools and incident response.
  • Proficiency in using cybersecurity tools and technologies.
  • Knowledge of network security, cloud security, and endpoint protection.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
