Job description
Educational Qualifications:
B.E/B.Tech in IT, CSE or any other Engineering disciplines with Min of 5 to 6yrs experience Database admin of SQL, No SQL Databases.
Brief Description:
The DB administrator must monitor the database performance and evaluate complex information coming from a variety of sources. And the DB admin has to ensure the data stored securely and optimally. Informing end users of changes in DB and train them to utilize systems.
Job requirements:
Deep understanding of internals of NoSQL approach.
Experience installing, configuring, upgrading, managing, and administering a Cassandra database locally and also in AWS/Azure cloud platforms.
Responsible for database deployments, and monitor for capacity, performance, and/or
trouble shooting issues
Expert experience with Cassandra , Mongo and any other noSQL databases
Expert knowledge of Cassandra architecture.
Advanced knowledge of various troubleshooting tasks (ex. Latency Analysis, Thread state Analysis, etc.)
Knowledge or experience with Azure Cosmos DB and Oracle Database/Microsoft SQL would be added advantage here.
Experience in design, development and support of ETL workflows utilizing ETL processes and tools.
Experience with Linux administration and scripting or programming Bash
Knowledge of installation and configuration procedures.
Knowledge of add/bootstrap nodes to clusters.
Knowledge of remove/replace nodes in clusters.
Knowledge of replication between data centers.
End-to-end performance tuning of Cassandra clusters against very large data sets
Monitor Cassandra clusters, performance and capacity planning
Conduct Cassandra training
Software installation, configuration, patches and upgrades
Using monitoring and management tools (e.g. DataStax OpsCenter)
Troubleshoot Cassandra issues with other dba- s/developers
Point of Contact for Vendor escalation
Database backup and recovery
Cassandra database/cluster connectivity and implementing security and integrating with components such as LDAP, AD, Sentry, Kerberos.
Table indexing and partitioning
Daily operations include, but not limited to, the installation, configuration, and support for Hadoop ecosystem on RedHat operating systems. Provide support and leadership for new project initiatives and support existing environments. Also after hours support as part of an on-call pager rotation.
Desirable:
Desirable to have exposure working in IOT domains
Experience using big data solutions in an AWS/Azure environment
Database Administrator Skills/Certifications:
Strong command of SQL and SQL server tools
Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards
Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling
PowerShell and Unix shell scripting skills
Familiarity with SSAS, SSIS, SSRS
Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Impeccable attention to detail
MCSE/MCSA certifications preferred
