Support Lead Steward with the Ownership of the Supplier Data Domain from a data governance standpoint based on the strategy and goals co-defined in partnership with the Data Domain Owner (a functional senior leader assigned to Supplier data),
Help write the global policies, standards related to the Supplier Data Domain (includes Supplier data, Supplier data platforms, etc.) and proposing new/improvements,
Ensure the quality and fitness for purpose of the organization's Supplier data assets, including the metadata for those data assets,
Drive proper Data Cataloguing and Data Quality assessments with the different Supplier dataset owners to drive the data governance agenda in a sustainable (effective and efficient) way,
Support the Lead steward in ensuring a consistent link between local market needs and Supplier Domain standards to help ensure end to end visibility of the data domain and priority,
Work with Lead Steward on transformational initiatives relating to the Supplier data domain from a BU/Function standpoint.
Manage data access / provisioning by:
Defining access permission plans,
Monitoring distribution of data from the domain,
Approving data provisioning to authorized users,
Supporting data users as a data domain SME,Ensuring data access and provisioning comply with standards and controls,
Define the data profile, identify the data assets in general and specially the Critical Data Elements, and determines the official sources of data in scope to address use case requirements,
KEY CHALLENGES
Ensure all initiatives are supported by a sound business case which identifies measures of success and is value based. Ensuring that this is fully supported and required actions to realise value are owned by the relevant stakeholders.
Ensuring focus on data quality and data cataloguing in a sustainable way
Work with Data Product Managers in Data & Analytics, Product Managers in IT Supply, System Architects, and other required teams to implement initiatives.
Optimize workflows and communications building effective and strong working relationships with the different data stakeholders (internal and external, IT, Supplier Relations, Marketing, R&D, Customers) as well as business colleagues at Global, Area and Regional Level.
Ability to convince and influence regional data stewardship stakeholders to ensure that the global policies defined are followed effectively and be able to monitor adherence.
Working with a large matrixed ecosystem of current and potential internal and external partner organisations to provide value to the organisation.
Actively contribute to the development and implementation of the overall Global IT & Digital and Data & Analytics Strategy
Skills & Experience
Stewardship experience for Supplier data domain in an organization.
5+ years of Data Governance/Management experience for this managerial level.
Complete understanding on how to define global policies and procedures for data management.
Ability to define requirements on setting up a comprehensive Data Strategy with business partners.
Technical
Experience in data management tooling applicable to the Supplier data domain
Ability to translate business requirements into technical data requirements.
Knowledge of the data sources, transformation rules, and uses of the data for the area of stewardship.
Strong experience in having managed data catalog solutions (Alation, Collibra, etc.), business glossaries, data lineage, etc.
