Designation: DGM Legal

Location: Vikhroli, Mumbai

Job Purpose : Intellectual Property Management and General Corporate Advisory

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Managing intellectual property portfolio including registration, prosecution, opposition, maintenance, renewal and enforcement.
  • Advising on legal matters pertaining to intellectual property and FMCG sector such as product and advertising compliance, label declarations, artwork and legal metrology matters.
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders on new product developments and related legal issues.
  • Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts such as intellectual property assignment and licensing, product supply, distributor arrangements and brand endorsement.
  • Responding to ASCI complaints, customer and third-party claims and other legal notices.
  • Handling of legal matters including drafting and vetting legal notice, replies, power of attorneys and affidavits.
  • Handling industry association work.
  • Maintaining digital data base including for intellectual property.
  • Providing legal updates on laws and judicial precedents to internal stakeholders.

Educational Qualification: Graduate / Post-Graduate in Law

Experience

  • 9 -12 years' experience, preferably in a law firm or in-house legal team of a large company / MNC
  • FMCG sector experience preferred

Skills

  • Expertise and in-depth knowledge of laws relating to FMCG sector, intellectual property laws, commercial, civil and consumer laws.
  • Expertise in drafting and negotiating contracts.
  • Good analytical skills, commercial acumen and time sensitive.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Team player.
  • Strong desire to learn.
  • Ability to work with and influence internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills as this position requires interaction with governmental authorities and industry associations.
