Optical Quality - Perceived Quality Engineer
Job Description / Roles & Responsibilities: To work alongside Customer Attributes Team within the Vehicle Engineering cluster and run Crafted Quality Process to Vehicle Program ensuring Deliverables / Gateways are met as per PQ Standards. Proactively influencing design studio to implement best fit and finish execution into the design theme in early stage. Driving development of A-class surface related craftsmanship risk and issue & support for Target setting for gap/flush and acceptable tolerance level (optical quality). Manage the Integration between Design, Body Engineering, DVA, Suppliers and Manufacturing. Leading the Quality Loop meeting to converge cross functional stakeholders viz Customer Styling and PQ Attributes team, Program management and Manufacturing to have agreed the Targets to be implemented on Production Gap Plan & Craftsmanship requirements. Facilitate creating the sketchbooks, concept sections and competitor benchmarking to help in creation of Targets. Understand the interaction between components (locating & fixing strategy + GD&T required as prerequisite) to predict their behaviors in extreme scenarios and oversee Dimensional variation analysis output to ensure Program Timing are met. To Assess realistic virtual prototypes & predict potential manufacturing concerns to assess 2D sections, GD&T plan, and prototypes. Support for faster maturation of Gap Flush targets by correlating the DVA results with actual variation on the vehicle. viii. Documentation of best practices and creation of design guidelines for robust design. Creation of PQ Progress Tracker & Capture latest statuses of zones, sections and actions to be completed before next meeting. To work with cross functional stakeholders to represent the attribute, negotiate and resolve concerns that affect perception of quality and facilitate meetings to identify root causes and corrective actions plans. Status Dashboard view of all Zones looked under Exteriors being, Glide paths being published. PC Literacy: Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, Word etc. Proficiency in Catia V5 and Exposure to Catia V6 will be added advantage. Good communication skills and able to coordinate with the customer and onshore team.
