We are looking for technically skilled candidates with advanced problem-solving abilities for the position of Junior Systems Administrator. This position is responsible for providing employees with functional, reliable, and cost effective tools to do their jobs. You will ensure the optimal running of all systems while managing access to resources and responding to user needs in a timely manner, serving as a resource and reference point for all Internal IT related queries.
This role has a local focus and global scope, based in the Hyderabad, India office and reporting to the Systems Administrator (US).
Key Objectives Objective #1: Support Customer Growth - Maintain internal network to achieve minimal downtime
- Ensure IT tickets are completed efficiently, accurately and on time
- Perform daily system administration tasks to verify uptime SLAs are surpassed
- Procure, maintain, repair/replace inventory as needed, including auditing annually
- Provide employees with technical 'help desk' support for computer software and hardware
- Investigate current and emerging technologies
- Adhere to compliance policies for effective change management
Objective #2: Eliminate Escalations - Use monitoring to be the first to know about issues…and take action
- Contribute to a shared script repository for driving expected outcomes at scale
- Contribute to a department resource library for effective knowledge sharing
- Participate in calls to support projects, initiatives, and incident response as needed
- Participate in after-hours maintenance and critical coverage shifts
- Perform all user and identity management following the principle of least privilege
- Research industry trends and security best practices to ensure data integrity
Objective #3: Increase Business Profitability - Gather and report department data to implement process improvement
- Reduce re-work and Mean Time to Recover (MTTR)
- Complete timely shutdown of resources
Specialized Experience - 2 years experience deploying and maintaining hardware (servers, laptops, etc)
- 2 years as a System Administrator (Windows, Linux) or Database Administrator
- 1 year experience using DevOps tools a plus (Git, Kaseya, Powershell, Bash, Terraform, Docker, etc)
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to make decisions under pressure
- Ability to think and communicate effectively with a global team
- Attention to detail with the ability to collect and analyze data systematically
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficient in the English language
- Passion to innovate, fail, and learn new things to delight customers
- Work requires the ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, IT, or related field preferred
- Exposure to underlying technologies a plus (SQL, SSL, DNS, Load Balancers, VPC's, Transit Gateway, VPN, caching, etc)
- Experience using Monitoring tools a plus (Grafana, Data Dog, Dotnet Counters)
- Experience with Networking a plus (Firewalls, DNS, WAN, TCP/IP, port forwarding, etc)
- Experience contributing to security and privacy audits a plus (PCI/DSS, SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO27001, etc)
- Familiarity with public cloud providers a plus
