Role Description
As a part of our RF team you will be involved in evangelising various RF systems including parts of our World’s first Multisensor satellite including a SAR and a Multispectral imager . As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for you’ll be responsible for simulating and modeling different RF systems of our SAR payloads and help define their architectures and specifications. You will act as a channel for the rest of the teams within GalaxEye and the RF team and our Partners to translate design changes and requirements. You’ll also support our certification efforts as a liaison with our regulatory teams and various governmental bodies and industry organizations.
Responsibilities:
- Simulate and model RF systems for various aerospace missions
- Work with system architects, RF engineers, antenna engineers, modem/DSP, and ASIC engineers to partition functions between hardware and software domains
- Assess feasibility of various designs in support of architecture definition
- Deriving top level specifications for RF links and RF and antenna subsystems
- Come up with testing criterias to characterise and analyse system performance
- Provide technical support to regulatory, coordination, and market access teams
- Take part in talking with relevant external stakeholders to ensure smooth functioning of the project and the satellite
- Come up with development strategies and work with team-members and partners to make sure they are implemented
Requirements
Basic Qualification:
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or other engineering discipline
- 5+ years of research or development experience in the areas of RF and antennas
- 1+ years of experience using one of the 3D EM simulation tools such as CST, HFSS, FEKO, SEMCAD, EMPro, TICRA or XFDTD
- Experience performing analysis and simulation of RF systems
- Thorough understanding of RF passive and active components
- Experience characterizing radio performance at microwave frequencies
- Experience in Matlab, Python, C++ or equivalent tools for modeling and analyzing RF systems
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Masters degree or PhD in electrical engineering with emphasis in RF/microwave circuits or communication theory
- Understanding of electromagnetic propagation and antenna systems
- Knowledge of RF transceiver architectures and digital communication theory
- Experience in managing and leading a small team
- Ability to work extended hours or weekends as needed for mission critical deadlines
