Job description
Responsibilities: Collaborate with design teams to conceptualize and develop innovative handwoven carpet designs that align with market trends and customer preferences. Conduct market research to identify emerging patterns, color schemes, and design elements in the handwoven carpet industry. Translate design concepts into detailed product specifications, considering materials, dimensions, and weaving techniques. Work closely with artisans and weaving teams to ensure the feasibility and manufacturability of handwoven carpet designs. Source and evaluate high-quality materials, dyes, and other components essential for handwoven carpet production. Manage the end-to-end product development process, ensuring timely delivery of prototypes and samples for evaluation and testing. Collaborate with quality control teams to establish and maintain strict quality standards throughout the production cycle. Provide technical expertise and support to weaving teams, addressing challenges and optimizing production efficiency. Stay abreast of industry trends, weaving technologies, and sustainable practices to enhance product innovation. Collaborate with marketing teams to develop product messaging, specifications, and promotional materials for handwoven carpets.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Product Development, or a related field. Proven experience in product development within the handwoven carpet industry. Must have experience in handwoven rugs. In-depth knowledge of handwoven carpet weaving techniques, materials, and quality standards. Proficient in design software and tools relevant to handwoven carpet development. Strong project management skills, including coordination and prioritization of tasks. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and artisan communities. Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards in handwoven carpet production. Ability to adapt to evolving market trends and incorporate them into product strategies. Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues in the handwoven carpet product development lifecycle.Job tags
