Job Title: LTDG Operator (Low Tension Diesel Generator Operator)

Department: Operations / Maintenance

Location: Trichy

Reports To: Operations Manager / Maintenance Manager

Job Summary:

As an LTDG Operator, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of Low Tension Diesel Generators (LTDG), specifically Perkins & Caterpillar models. Holding a C class Elect License, your primary role includes ensuring the efficient and safe operation of LTDG systems, conducting routine checks, performing preventive maintenance, and responding swiftly to any operational issues.

Key Responsibilities:

1. LTDG Operation and Monitoring:
   

   • Operate LTDG systems in accordance with operational guidelines to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
     
   • Monitor LTDG parameters such as voltage, current, and frequency, and adjust controls as necessary.
     

2. Preventive Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
   

   • Perform routine checks and preventive maintenance on Perkins & Caterpillar LTDGs to ensure optimal performance.
     
   • Identify and troubleshoot any technical issues, performing repairs or coordinating with technicians for complex problems.
     

3. Safety and Compliance:
   

   • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure safe operation of LTDGs.
     
   • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards pertaining to diesel generator operation and maintenance.
     

4. Record Keeping and Reporting:
   

   • Maintain accurate records of LTDG operations, maintenance activities, and any repairs performed.
     
   • Prepare and submit regular reports detailing the status of LTDG systems and any maintenance or operational issues.
     

5. Collaboration and Communication:
   

   • Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to ensure the reliability and efficiency of LTDG systems.
     
   • Communicate effectively with team members, management, and other relevant parties regarding LTDG operations and maintenance needs.
     

Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  
• Valid C class Elect License, with a focus on low-voltage systems.
  
• Proven experience as an LTDG Operator or in a similar role, specifically with Perkins & Caterpillar models.
  
• Familiarity with the operational and maintenance requirements of low tension diesel generators.
