Role: Director of Engineering

Objective of the Role:

As the Director of Engineering for Mobility vertical, building a super app, you will be the driving force behind our product success in this US market. Your primary responsibility is to build and lead a high-performing team that consistently delivers innovative and scalable solutions while ensuring smooth operations and exceeding customer expectations.

You Will:

Own the technology vision for best App experience for T-Mobile customers: Align technology roadmap with business goals, ensuring tech is a core strategic advantage, not just an operational necessity. Drive growth and innovation: Define the long-term engineering roadmap, set priorities, and translate customer needs into impactful solutions. Champion collaboration: Foster a culture of open communication and teamwork, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop customer-centric solutions. Shape the technical landscape: Lead architecture and design decisions, owning the entire development lifecycle from ideation to 24/7 production, resulting in robust, scalable, and industry-leading technology. Empower autonomy and agility: Build a decentralized organization capable of delivering high-quality software at high velocity in a dynamic environment. Set ambitious goals and ensure consistent delivery. Prioritize infrastructure excellence: Develop cutting-edge deployment and infrastructure management practices, guaranteeing maximum security, availability (>99.9%), and cost efficiency. Assemble a world-class team: Attract and cultivate top talent, creating an environment where high performers thrive, and underperformance is addressed swiftly. Implement clear career paths and succession planning. Drive continuous improvement: Proactively identify and implement opportunities for optimization in business, technology, and processes. Champion engineering and operational excellence by establishing and owning key metrics. This Role requires collaboration with our colleagues with time zone overlaps with the Pacific Time Zone (PT) or Eastern Time Zone (ET).

You must have:

15-20 years of proven leadership experience managing large engineering teams. Strong expertise in App(Android, IOS, Hybrid) and Backend development for high-volume applications. (Consider a scale for US market) An inspirational leadership style, passionate about solving real problems. Deep technical knowledge in software, systems, and security, enabling seamless communication with engineers, executives, and non-technical audiences. Experience building, leading, and managing large-scale projects while mentoring and nurturing top-notch engineers. A proven track record of hiring and developing high-performing, motivated teams. Strong leadership skills and an outside-in approach to scaling organizations. Hands-on coding experience with an understanding of enterprise-level code. A Bachelor's/Master's degree (preferred).
